Noosa and Sunshine Coast Tiny Wedding Elopements

What better place on Earth than our own Noosa and Sunshine Coast to exchange marriage vows perhaps at sunset or dawn alongside the infinity of the ocean, the rusticity of the mountains or a rugged headland in the Noosa National Park.

If the thought of a larger wedding sends you into a spin then an elopement is the way to go and an alternative quickly gaining in popularity as couples choose to bypass the stress and distraction of organising a bigger event where the true meaning of what you and your love are actually doing, can get lost in translation.

There are so many reasons to elope and an increasing proportion of the weddings that I officiate are exactly that...and the reason...? An Elopement is really all about you two with no-one else trying to having their input or attempting to convince you to do it this way or that when you and your love are trying to have the momentous occasion you have always imagined in a special location that is meaningful for you both with some amazing photos to share with everyone later. You can still have a beautiful dress and hair and make-up and flowers will make it a perfect picture. Of course, you can have guests but usually ‘elopements’ are generally with a maximum of 10.

There are so many reasons to elope: My own definition which modernises the original ‘ to run away and get married’ from centuries past is this:

Eloping: Peeling back the layers to expose the raw emotion and passion felt by each partner in an understated and perfect occasion of marriage that you will remember forever.

It will save a heap of money which could be used far more wisely...invested in a home deposit, perhaps or a long honeymoon or vacation, a car or that big party to celebrate with family and friends after the fact.

One cannot help but stress when ones nearest and dearest and in-laws to be have been invited, many forking out huge expenses themselves, perhaps travelling from interstate or overseas, taking time off work, expensive hens and bucks weekends, buying new outfits and gifts for you that they can’t really afford, naturally you want to ensure that everything is perfect for them.

The main point and the fundamental aspect of being a celebrant in my book is, preserving the whole meaning of exactly what you two are doing which all too often gets overlooked at larger weddings. It is an entirely personal choice and undoubtedly you will have to consider the desires of family to an extent, but make sure that the wishes of you and your love are uppermost, after all this is one day when it really is all about you...well the two of you!

This is exactly why one of Noosa’s leading photographers and I have created ‘Tiny Weddings’. Eloping strips bare the wedding to all that is really necessary; each other, a perfect Noosa or Sunshine Coast location, the legalities and amazing ceremony words from your celebrant. With that you can have the event captured forever by talented Noosa photographer David Gleeson, so that you and friends and family can forever enjoy the unstaged beauty of the occasion and the rawness of your feelings about as unvarnished as they come, exquisitely captured in a totally relaxed and candid way with the huge bonus that your photos will be available for you just 7 days after you marry!!
