Sunshine Coast Wedding Planning ~ Last Minute Tips
Philippa Holness • November 2, 2021
You have been planning your Sunshine coast wedding for months or longer, you have your
dream Sunny Coast wedding location locked in, the date is getting very close, you can’t wait for the day to finally be here. No matter how prepared you probably are, I always receive emails from couples as their wedding date approaches, asking me for last minute advice with items that may have been overlooked. Ask Philippa, a
Sunshine Coast Celebrant for wedding planning advice at any time!
Last minute items to consider for your Wedding:
- Have you booked hair/make up on the day, had a trial and arranged the time for the artists to arrive?

- Your Dress/Groom’s clothes, may have been hanging in a wardrobe out of sight for months... try it on a week or so before
- Lingerie/Jewellery/Shoes to accompany your outfit/s
- What time for the photographer/videographer to arrive? Are they capturing the gorgeous preparation of you and your bridal party or from the ceremony onwards?
- If the photographer is capturing the bridal/groom preparation ensure one of the bridal party and groomsmen is responsible for keeping the rooms reasonably tidy....wet towels strewn on the floor on photos is not what you want to see!

- Remind the groom
not
to have his phone/wallet/keys in his trouser pockets. It really is not a great look in the photos; give to a family member to look after
- I cannot stress the importance of a solid Plan B. Check that your
wet weather/Plan B is feasible and what the agreed cut off time for activating it will be.
Ensure that all your wedding suppliers are aware of this
This is a great task to entrust to family or a bridal party member
- Flowers and ceremony styling. What time to ask your florist and stylist to arrive.....early!
- Decorating/styling the ceremony area if you are doing it yourselves
- Transport to and from the ceremony, who is travelling in each group?
- Choose ceremony music and have it on a smart-phone ready for the celebrant and nominate someone to operate the phone.
- Meals organised for photographer, videographer, band and DJ and any other supplier who may be with you for extended hours into the reception
- Assign tasks to family/friends/bridal party members. They will be only too happy to begiven responsibilities and it will eliminate any possible stress factors for you.
- Remember to eat breakfast/light lunch on the day. Organise someone to remind you to have something; one of the bridal party may be a good bet, even if you are not hungry!
- Things you may usually have in a handbag (make-up, tissues, mints, phone etc) to be brought to the ceremony by family member or one of the bridal party

- Water/mints for the bridal party journey to and from the ceremony
- Water/mosquito spray/fans/sunscreen/shade for guests
- If pets are part of the ceremony, which we love! appoint someone to look after them when they are not holding the rings and make sure their needs are met too.

- Arrangement for pets if they at home, it may be a long day!
- Most Important:
- This is a special day for your family too, make time to chat for a few moments with each so that they don’t feel the day has flown by and they haven’t had a chance to let you know how happy they are for you both
- Don’t forget to thank friends and family for their involvement
- A few quiet moments for you and your beloved before and after the ceremony so you can really take it all in together
- It
will all be perfect, even if not everything quite goes to plan; this is your
day not a choreographed cut out...even little hiccups make great memories and
photos too
- Remember the big picture of what/why you are both doing this, I can help you the package that fits your needs perfectly!
